What's in a name?

Apparently, quite a lot.  First of all, for those of you that knew I was heading out to the Seattle area for vacation, I am actually not on Bainbridge Island but Whidbey Island.  Quite a difference.  I found out this information at the exact same time that I found out that the bus that I was on, the one I thought was driving me directly to Bainbridge instead of using the ferry, was actually getting ON the ferry and headed to Whidbey! Thank you to the nice lady who helped me come to this realization.  The good news is that I'm not going to be around kids for the next year to share the obvious intellect that is bubbling out of my brain right now, and it was actually the island I was supposed to be going to. Luckily I am now sitting here in the most beautiful spot, with three of the most beaUtiful people and four lovely creatures (one shih-tzu!), sipping french pressed coffee and being immensely grateful.

Prior to this part of the adventure, I was on the plane and considering the name of my Blog.  It came to me a few weeks ago after the seed was planted about starting a Blog.  I was thinking about the various titles of my "book in progress" (more on that later) and what a journey it has been since writing the first few pages of that book when the "The Spiritual Warrior" just popped into my head.  I was very excited because it seemed to describe my journey thus far perfectly.  I have always been a warrior, especially according to the  Dictionary.com definition: "a person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness, as in politics or athletics."  OK, for those of you that know me, ignore the politics part and you get the point.  I fondly remembered reading Dan Milman's "Way of the Peaceful Warrior" years ago and what an impact it had on me.  But then, after creating my Blog draft and having the title both recommended and accepted, I found that there is already a great deal of spiritual warrior-ness happening out there in real life and in the virtual world!  So, to those of you who have actually read this far and realize that you are my select few that I was advised to invite in for the first few weeks, a few questions for you.  Do you like the title or should I change it?  Do you have any idea what I'm talking about?  What might you like to read about in my journey over the next year, if anything?  Do you think I should pay you?

OK, Blog #2 done.  I kind of like this but it is time to head down to the Pugent Sound with Stella (kinda sounds and looks like Bella) and get a cup o' joe made by somebody else.  I could get used to this lifestyle.

  3. Pam, I enjoyed reading your story about the name....but, what in God's name are you talking about????? JK. I love it, my friend. It fits you perfectly. Now send me some damn money.
We're really happy to have a new way to keep up with you. Heather & I started and finished our honeymoon in that area.....19 years ago, as of next week. We drove to Vancover, then ferried to Victoria and travelled around Vancover Island, then travelled around British Columbia and Alberta.... What a great part of the world for you to be in. So happy for you.
